His given first name is Jose...for Class AAA Louisville threw 35.1 consecutive scoreless innings bridging the 2015 and 2016 seasons, the longest scoreless streak in franchise history...was a 2004 South Atlantic League All-Star and a 2009 mid-season Texas League All-Star.

2016

Made 22 apps at Louisville but posted a 3.14 ERA in 45 apps during 3 stints with the Reds (Opening Day-4/18, 5/18-5/21, 6/27-remainder of the season)...was on the Reds' Opening Day roster and posted a 5.40 ERA in 8 apps before he was optioned to Louisville on 4/19, when RHP Robert Stephenson was promoted to start in place of injured RHP Alfredo Simon...after 10 scoreless relief apps at Louisville returned to Cin...from 5/18-5/21 made 3 more relief apps before he was optioned back to Louisville following the game on 5/21 in a series of roster moves involving 8 players...returned for his third stint in Cin on 6/27, after the Angels claimed off waivers RHP JC Ramirez, and finished the season with the Reds by posting a 2.18 ERA in 34 apps after that promotion...from 9/7-9/23 produced a season-high 8-game scoreless streak (8.2ip, 7h, 1bb, 9k)...made his only career plate appearance in the 18-9 loss on 8/22 vs LAD...hit into a fielder's choice...following the season pitched for Toros del Este in the Mexican Winter League (9g, 1-0, 2.35, 3sv, 3svo, 7.2ip, 11h, 1bb, 7k, 1hr).

2005 Upon recovering from Tommy John surgery, appeared in 14 games for Single-A Vero Beach and did not allow an earned run in 15.2 innings...fanned 18 batters and walked 12 ... Allowed three unearned runs and took the loss, his only decision on Aug. 14 ... Made two appearances, including one rehab start for the Gulf Coast Dodgers. 2004 Led Dodger minor leaguers with a combined 20 saves for Single-A Columbus (14) and Single-A Vero Beach (6), despite missing the final six weeks with a right elbow sprain ... Between the two teams, posted a 2.00 ERA, limited opponents to a .172 batting average (28-for-163) and compiled 74 strikeouts in 47.0 innings, an average of 14.8 strikeouts per nine innings, which ranked third among all minor leaguers ... Recognized by Baseball America as being the best reliever and as having the best fastball in the South Atlantic League ... Selected to pitch in the SAL All-Star Game ... Did not allow an earned run over 17 outings for Columbus from April 18-May 29, a span of 20.1 innings...collected 11 saves during that stretch ... Picked up saves in first four appearances upon joining Vero Beach on June 19, hurling 6.0 shutout innings. 2003 Appeared in just seven games for Single-A South Georgia. 2002 Pitched for three different affliates, combining for a 5-3 record and 2.82 ERA in 16 games, covering 60.2 innings ... Started season with the Gulf Coast League Dodgers and was 3-1 with a 1.95 ERA in 10 games, limiting opponents to a .174 batting average ... Ranked by Baseball America as the fifth-best prospect in the GCL...allowed no earned runs in first 18.2 innings. 2001 Led Dodger short-season minor leaguers in wins (8) and games (28).
